White Label Blackjack Software

Blackjack is one of the world’s most popular casino games, and has been around for over 400 years, with its first known documentation coming from none other than Miguel de Cervantes (of Don Quixote fame). Here, we have a short brief describing the fundamentals of blackjack, and going through the features of Lion Gaming Group’s white label blackjack software for iGaming operators.

Rules and gameplay

In blackjack, a bettor plays a game of cards against the house, who is represented by the dealer. Before cards are dealt, the bettor places their wager in the betting box. Afterwards, the dealer deals both the player and the dealer two cards, with the first of the dealer’s cards being shown face-up. The goal for the player is to get as close to or hit a total score of 21 without going over 21. Score is counted by the card number (i.e. a 9 is 9 points), face cards count as 10, and an ace counts as either a 1 or an 11 depending on the bettor’s preference. Going over 21 results in a “bust,” which results in a loss. The player goes first, and after they decide to “stand” (meaning, they are no longer trying to increase their score), the dealer then has its turn, the dealer draws cards until they reach a score of 17 or higher.

Other aspects of the game (which can be variable depending on the house operator)

  • Doubling – before a bettor draws their first card after the initial two they receive, they are able to double their wager on the condition they can hit again
  • Split – If a bettor receives two cards of the same value (i.e. an 10 and 10), they are able double their initial wager and split their cards into two separate hands
    • Doubling is allowed on split hands
  • Blackjack – If a player hits blackjack (ace and a 10) with the first 2 cards, they are immediately paid out 3:2
  • Insurance – If the dealer’s face up card is a ace, the bettor has the option to pay half of their original bet for “insurance,” in case the dealer has received blackjack which would result in an auto loss for the bettor
